My name is Josephine Clark, formally known as Lashed By Josie and I am the owner of Luna Beauty. I am 28 years old and have been in the lash world for about 10 years now. I have worked since the day I turned 15 but have always strived for more. During my last year of high school, I really wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Most of my friends were off to University and I seemed to be the only one feeling a little lost and that is where my story begins. 

 

I always had dreams of running my own company and being able to work for myself, with my own set of rules. I was always known for packing on the mascara until I learned how to stick on falsies. I had a passion for lashes. Lash extensions at the time weren't all that popular but I took a chance and signed up for a Lash Extension Training course in August 2015. Who knew from that day forward my life was about to change drastically.

 

Just like any other business you need to invest in yourself and your craft. I remember my first set taking me up to 4 hours. I have never wanted to quit anything so bad in my life. My back hurt, my eyes were so strained and my hands just wouldn't stop shaking. I definitely didn't have an easy start but I kept on going. Towards my sixth month, I was completely booked solid. I had girls driving up to an hour to come and see me. I was so proud of myself.

Almost a year into lashing and I was given an amazing opportunity to work in Yorkville, expanding my cliental to Toronto. Not much later after that and I became a Certified Trainer under Glamour Secrets Capital. I was taking on more then I could handle but loved every minute of it. My job allows me to make others feel beautiful. Training allows me to change peoples lives financially and emotionally. You can't succeed at anything you don't love.

Ten years later and I'm still loving every minute of my journey. I have met thousands of beautiful girls all over Ontario. I have taught dozens of students all across Canada. There are days I am lashing up to 12 hours. There are days I barely work. Some of my clients have become some of my closest friends. People are afraid to follow their dreams because society makes us feel without an education we aren't capable of becoming successful.

 

I proved anyone who doubted me wrong. I have just launched my own line of falsies reaching out to makeup artists all over the GTA which I named after the zodiac signs in 2020. I have completed and been certified in Classic Lash Extensions by The Lash Academy. I took an additional Classic Lash Extension training course with The Extension Academy before returning back to The Lash Academy for Volume Lash Extension training. I have completed and am certified in Lash Lift & Tint by The Lash Academy as well as SugarLash Pro. I am also certified by LashBoxLA for Mega Volumes. In December of 2020, I completed a Master Volume Course with LiaLash Pro as well as a Business Mentorship class.

As of January 2021, I took a huge leap and opened the doors to my FIRST ever store front 'Luna Beauty' in Port Credit, Mississauga. 'Luna Beauty' is a multi service salon including services such as lashes, permanent makeup & facials. I will be completing a Practical Nursing Degree in hopes of getting into injections down the road.

 

Fast forward to 2022 and I met my prince charming aka my husband now! He is born and raised in Miami, FL and where he still resides as a Firefighter and Real Estate Agent. Between both our busy lives, doing what I love will always be our number one priority. We currently go back and forth between Miami and Toronto for the love of my cliental and business. Although I have just purchased our first home together, I have no current plans for a permanent move and I can't say I'd ever want too permanently without still doing the back and forth. A lot of my client base has stuck by me through out this entire journey, making you guys more like family to me then clients. A possible expansion to Miami in the future sounds exciting to me and a little scary of course. I am thankful to be able to live the life that I do and I hope to continue to grow in all aspects of my life. Nobody is perfect and I still have a long way to go.
